I consider myself a Solution-Focused Therapist (SFT), meaning we focus on finding the strengths and solutions you already have within yourself (often a re-discovery process). I also consider myself an Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist who specializes in Brainspotting (BSP-C) and Psychoeducation. My approach depends on my client’s comfort level with each method and their individual need each session. As mentioned above, I specialize in grief/loss and trauma. Additionally, I specialize in serving individuals who struggle with addiction, chronic illness, life transitions, relationship issues, women’s issues, and sexual identity and sexuality. My specialty populations are active/retired First Responders (i.e., law enforcement; nurses; military members, veterans, and their families; etc.), individuals who identify as queer or LGBTQIA2S+, individuals who suffer from spiritual trauma, adolescents (ages 13 and older, due to the nature of telehealth/online services), and Alaskan Natives/Native Americans (AN/NA).
I have over seven years’ experience leading, managing, and/or supervising other professionals in a behavioral and medical healthcare clinical/program setting, namely non-profits. I have supervised, coached, trained, and disciplined licensed professional counselors, clinical specialists, substance use professionals, case aides, and peer support specialists. Additionally, I have assisted in direct oversight of psychiatric LPNs and RNs in their roles and maintained oversight of contracts for psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners. For the past 24 years, I have served a wide variety of cultures and populations in the behavioral healthcare field. I have worked in a variety of capacities – ranging from top leadership to frontline staff; from business development to clinical specialties; from quality assurance to conflict management; and from event planning and fundraising to grant writing and budget management (ranging from $20K to over $5M, working with multiple grant funds, Indian Health Service funding, donor funds, etc.).
When I am not working, I can be found traveling, enjoying local hotspots and events, volunteering, advocating, attending concerts and various sporting events, playing with my dogs, playing board or video games, and visiting with family and friends to help me recharge. I enjoy humor, sitcoms and movies, coloring, and reading to help me unwind from the day.
Through supportive, strengths-based, values-driven, authentic and engaging counseling, I hope to help you move through your pain to find renewed hope, healing, and empowerment for your future. I hope you will take the first step in your journey to restore balance by reaching out to us today.
